Jason M. Lucas is the Managing Partner at DFA. Before co-founding DFA in 2018, Jason was President of Amstar, a $2.0B real estate private equity firm with assets in all product types in the United States and Europe. In this role, he was responsible for investment strategy, acquisition and disposition decisions, and overseeing a staff of 40 professionals. Before his 11 years at Amstar, Jason worked at Broadreach Capital Partners in Los Angeles, and he started his career working for the Morgan Stanley Real Estate Funds. Jason is a member of ICSC and ULI and is a frequent speaker at professional conferences. He graduated with honors from Brown University with a B.A. in Economics.
Scott Soucy

Prior to joining DFA’s Denver office in 2019, Scott was a Vice President of Investments at CIM Group, a $30.0B real estate private equity firm headquartered in Los Angeles. In this role, Scott was responsible for the acquisition, development, asset management, and loan origination of urban real estate in the United States. Before his seven years at CIM Group, Scott worked at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in the Real Estate Investment Banking Group as well as AllianceBernstein in New York City where he began his career. Scott is a member of The Urban Land Institute (ULI) as well as a member of the Entertainment Development Council (EDC). He graduated from the School of Engineering and Applied Science at Columbia University with a B.S. in Engineering Management Systems.
Seth Cohen

Before joining DFA in 2021, Seth was Shareholder and Director at one of Denver's preeminent law firms, where his practice focused on real estate acquisition and finance, capital markets and joint venture and partnership arrangements. Earlier, Seth owned and operated an automobile dealership in New York and served as Vice President, Investment Banking for a New York City-based real estate private equity fund with a focus on development projects. He started his career as an associate in the New York City office of a leading international law firm. Seth is a member of the Colorado, New York and Massachusetts bars. He graduated, magna cum laude and Order of the Coif from the University of Michigan Law School and with a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Michigan.

Prior to joining DFA’s Denver office in 2019, Ryan was Senior Finance Director at Real Capital Solutions, where he was responsible for the accounting, finance, and investor relations for the firm’s nearly $2.0B real estate portfolio. Before his five years at Real Capital Solutions, Ryan directed the accounting and finance teams at Vulcan Real Estate, a real estate development and asset management firm based in Seattle, Washington. Ryan also spent time as an audit associate in Ernst & Young’s Seattle office. He graduated from Brigham Young University with both a Masters and Bachelor of Science in Accounting.

Prior to joining DFA’s Denver office in 2018, Tyler was an associate with Macquarie Bank’s Principal Finance business in New York, which managed $2.0B of real estate debt and equity investments across all property types. Before his 4 years at Macquarie, Tyler began his career at J.P. Morgan’s financial institutions investment banking practice in New York. He graduated with honors from Harvard University with a B.A. in Economics.

Molly Boomershine is a Finance Manager at DFA. Prior to joining DFA’s Denver office in 2021, Molly was a senior fund accountant at Northwood Investors, a privately owned real estate investment advisor with $8.0B in assets under management and assets in all product types in the United States and Europe. Prior to her time at Northwood Investors, she spent four years as an auditor in RSM's Denver office. She graduated from The University of Iowa with a B.S. in Accounting.

Karen Sparrow is Corporate Accounting Manager at DFA. Prior to joining DFA’s Denver office in 2018, Ms. Sparrow founded and operated Premier Accounting LLC, an accounting services business providing business consulting, financial reporting, accounting and payroll services to entrepreneurial businesses. Before her 15 years at Premier Accounting, she was a Director of Financial Planning at ICG Communications in Denver as well as a Senior Financial Analyst at U.S. Long Distance in San Antonio, Texas. She also spent time as a Senior Auditor in Arthur Andersen’s San Antonio and Minneapolis offices. Ms. Sparrow graduated from the University of South Dakota with a B.S. in Business Administration, Accounting Major.

Prior to joining DFA’s Denver office in 2023, Seth was an associate at Chatham Financial on its Real Estate Investment Banking team, where he advised institutional real estate investors on sophisticated capital markets strategies. During his time at Chatham, Seth helped raise over $8 billion of debt, including permanent, mezzanine and unsecured financing. He graduated summa cum laude from Wheaton College (IL) with a B.A in Economics and Philosophy.
